Gearbox Software

Gearbox Software is the developer of Borderlands. The company was founded in 1999 and started developing expansions for the Half-Life series. It also helped other developers port a number of games to PC and console.

Its first major independently developed franchise was Brothers in Arms, a first-person shooter set during World War II. The franchise includes Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway.

Randy Pitchford is the current CEO of Gearbox.
