Randy Pitchford On Raising Borderlands Level Cap

Any chance of the level cap going up with future DLC?

We’re working on it. I know that’s something that people really want. You asked me earlier how difficult it was to balance everything, and as a customer I don’t care – I don’t want to hear how difficult things are – I just want what I want. I spend a lot of time making excuses, but we want that too, and we’re investing in that and I would not be surprised if we are able to offer that in the future, but at this point I can’t make any promises.

Gearbox Taking Questions

Thanks to Herosresolve and Vintoks originally posting information about this on the forums. Gearbox is taking questions on Borderlands on the official forums and will answer some in an upcoming video.

Rock, Paper, Shotgun Interviews Randy Pitchford

Spongekvlt already posted this in the forums but in case you missed it, PC gaming blog Rock, Paper, Shotgun questioned Gearbox head Randy Pitchford.

One topic: character appearance customization. Like we already knew, armor won't affect looks, but you will be able to change your character's color and name.

Destructoid And Randy Pitchford Have Familiar Conversation

Destructoid interviewed Gearbox's helmeted leader Randy Pitchford (pictured left). Familiar questions, familiar answers if you've read or watched any of the other recent Borderlands interviews.

I think part of the reason we're not getting any fresh info is the interviewers know so little about the game they ask the same basic questions every time. Take this question from Destructoid:

Borderlands Vehicle Footage

Check out about 3:17 in this interview for the first gameplay footage I've seen of a vehicle in the new art style.

New Borderlands Interview Tomorrow

Destructoid will post a new interview with Gearbox head Randy Pitchford tomorrow. Randy's last interview was informative and hopefully this will follow suit.

Shacknews Interviews Gearbox's Mikey Neumann

Shacknews scored an interview with Gearbox's Mikey Neumann. I dig up the good parts below. You can read the full interview here.

1. Borderlands is almost done, but don't expect it until October.

Neumann says the target release month is October but they're wrapping up the game production now for certification time. Certification is a process developers go through with the console makers to make sure their game is up to snuff.

Randy Pitchford On Challenges Facing Borderlands

VideoGamer.com posted an interview with Gearbox head Randy Pitchford today. It's an interesting Q&A on the state of the gaming industry. Pitchford talks about how difficult it is for a new franchise to compete in a space where hackneyed sequels typically thrive.
