Tragedy Strikes: PC Borderlands Delayed By Six Days

Oh the humanity. PC gamers re-mark your calendars. The release date of Borderlands for the mouse-and-keyboard crew has been pushed back to October 26th from the 20th.

The reason?

Says publisher 2k "We're optimizing the PC version which takes a few days longer than expected."

Developers have a tougher task getting PC games to run smoothly than 360 and PS3 versions because the PC ones need to run properly on different types of hardware. But shouldn't they have anticipated that from the beginning?

Big picture though, it's always better to have a good game late than a crap game early.

Awful way to start my day.
I don't own a PS3 or XBOX360, plus my favoritism for PC, it was a clear choice from the very outset.
(Quick note to those who know me, While I don't check the forum, I do check the RSS feed, hoping to see STEAM news.)

I'm disappointed...  But I'm cool with it if it means the game is less likely to have bugs and performs better on the PC.

darn it, looks like im not converting my ps3 to play pc games. $900 of added hardware was bad enough now 6 more days!?! forget it i'll just buy it for the ps3 or get it for my birthday.

but then again their version will be optimized so thats worth it right?

im gettin mine for ps3 though

On the plus side, the PC version, according to Brad @ Giantbomb, is head and shoulders above the PS3/360 versions in visuals and speed, getting a constant 60fps, while the console version is decidely less constant.

 

I'll wait the extra week or so to get The Best.
