Laying Down The Law
I would like to come up with some rules for the forums. Not too many though. Pandora, after all, is a lawless place.
Here are my two suggestions. Please let me know if you have any concerns, thoughts, or suggestions before I sticky them and you must forever hold your peace.
1. Use titles for Forum Topics that describe the post.
"Are there bathrooms in Borderlands?" is much better than "READ THIS."
2. Use common sense.
Don't be obscene or a troll; write as clearly as you can.
Don't forget the Search Button!
EDIT: Nevermind. I found it for the first time since I arrived ont he website.
Jeez, I feel stupid(er than I normally feel).
The search seems to prioritize by the Tags first when searching, then for the key words as used in posts. Since not many posts have tags, it goes straight to the content. I was tryin to look up the PC gamer article and got back a bunch of results for post hat contained the word "PC Gamer"
you forgot to put the wow killer button, every time its pressed a wow player is killed and gives up wow (a miracle)<<sry i just really hate wow a lot > X|
The content management system we're using for the site (a wonderful thing called Drupal) has a built-in search feature. It lets you weigh four factors to determine search results.
- Keyword relevance
- Recently posted
- Number of comments
- Number of views
Right now, they are all set to be equally important but I'm glad to tinker with them if you think it will provide better results.
Try to make your typing so others can read it.

Thread Tags would be nice. Often time I find myself trying to reference a specific thread but find myself unable to locate it among the many threads and posts.
You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your f**king khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.
