Well hopefully everything was just a hoax and they can bring out the real game. I dont think thats the case but ill hold on to my delusions.

I honestly wont buy the game if it looks like that.

I know JohnnyMac.  It takes so much self discipline to not completley FLIP out at them.  It's such a slap across the face.  I waited for what, 2 years?  And now that they finally break their silence, now that they finally show some love, not only do they give us this bullshit, they make us wait.   Us, you know, the people who cared MOST about their game.  The people on the forums every day, posting a little hopeful thing, making the time go by.  Not only do they release it in the UK first when it's an American game (no offense to my british and scottish friends), but they make the people in the US who don't have a subscription wait WEEKS to get ahold of the god damn article.  By that time, they'll have released other stuff on the internet.

Why not give the people on the forums, who cared the most about the game, some love?  A little thank you for those sleepless nights, all the waiting.  Course it would've been an "f-you" because of this stupid cel shading.  I'm sorry, but I'm very upset about this game...it was my dream game up until now.

Well, at least you've got cartoon-poop to look forward to; we're all used to realistic, AWSOME looking poop, that it'll be UNIQUE.

Writing a post now to try to sum up everything we know. Should be up in about 30 minutes.

That makes me so mad. They took a fantastic game and then pigeon holed it. They're in the industry, they should know that cel-shading or any variation there of is looked upon differently than other normal games.

And to all the people all overs the new styles nuts get over it. I really hope they were just messing with us. I really do.

I doubt they are...I think this is for real.  I'm still, absolutely dumbfounded and confused.  And I think this might actually be a screenshot, the big one, because if you look at the right side, there's a gun container like we saw in the E3 presentation.  It'd be an odd choice of drawing to put that there (good lord, I accidentaly typed "their"...I'm not stupid, really).  When I draw, I  want the stuff that I draw to be easily noticable.  Just my 2 cents though.

I just don't understand why they did it.  Look at the banner at the top of the page.  It's awsome.  I personally think that all the pictures used are gorgeous, I thought they had pretty fair realistic graphics.  Then look at the scan.  It's like they did it JUST to upset us.  It's completley insane.  Looking at it from their point of view, it might make it easier to load when you're driving from region to region, and it might make it "unique" , but they HAD to have known that there would be outcry like this.  Ennui said that they had testers from all walks of life test it and give feedback.  I doubt that they tested many normal, hardcore gamers.  Maybe I'm wrong, not saying I'm even right, I'm just saying I doubt it.  

I really think that they're going to lose A LOT of sales due to this.  An FPS that's cell shaded?  Good lord, what the hell are you thinking?  And I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but that top-right screenshot was over the shoulder.  I think it'll still be FPS, but I hope you don't have the option.

Am I still going to buy this game?  Yes.  On the release date?  Yes.  Midnight launch?  Yes.  Not because I'm looking forward to it NEARLY as much.  Looking forward to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 more now.  But I didn't wait this long to be put off because of an art style.  Although, it's such a turn-off....if it wasn't pretty, that's one thing, but it's ugly....

Gearbox sites are still down for me. Never seen them down this long before. Wonder if it's just a big coincidence or if its related somehow.

I dunno, Guide.  I doubt that the shop and everything would be down if they were just changing something on the forums.  I don't even know how it would be related.  Maybe they're updating the official site for Borderlands?  But I don't think that they would have to take EVERYTHING down just to update one site.
