I personally love the Nintendo DS, its one of my all time favorite consoles today and sometimes the system amazes me with certin companies pushing it's limits and doing things people don't think possible on a system with lower specs than the psp. Though it does 2D rather well, the 3D engine has been labled to being "primitive" by many but that doesn't stop developers from making some impressive looking games with the 3D engine (example: Moon which runs on a consistant 60 fps). Do you guys think that the DS has reached it's full potential or do you think more could be improved on?

One thing I would love to see

One thing I would love to see on the DS is more solid, challenging strategy games. I played Age of Empires: The Age of Kings some but it got easy way too quickly. Any time I go to the game store, I feel like half the DS games I see are aimed at the 12 and under crowd.

I think the DS's two screens are great for strategy games since a lot of times those titles need to present a lot of info to the player. I don't think it has been utilized to its fullest though.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anybody have any good strategy game suggestions for the DS?

To BLG

You are completely right, the Ds seems to be so perfectly suited for RTS games. A game you may want to check out is Advanced Wars. Its kind of a turn based RTS similar to the gameplay of Axis and Allies.

That being said. I do not believe that the Ds has been fully realized. it has alot of potential, they just need to perfect the art. A touch screen and stylus are new territory in gaming, and just like all the other ideas that Nintendo had first, they were the first to implement it, but they wont be the ones to perfect it.

Kinda late but you could try

Kinda late but you could try Warhammer 40k: Squad Command. It got shit reviews, but I like it though it has it's fair share of bugs and the map is useless sometimes....

DSi/AR

DSi Augmented Reality.  Look up Augmented Reality if you don't know what it is, the DSi's camera is capable of such functions I believe.
