Gearbox Considering Using Procedural Generation In Other Games
Joystiq brings us a report from SXSW, a digital media conference, this morning on a panel that included a couple Borderlands devs. They discuss weapon creation in the game.
Borderlands 2 Press Release (Sort Of)
Corporate press releases are typically as useful as a butter knife in a gun fight. They're corporate propaganda. But sometimes there's some good details when you read between the lines.
Exhibit A: the fourth quarter press release from Borderlands publisher Take-Two Interactive Software (NASDAQ:TTWO). Say the suits:
Maurice Goes To Gearbox
I won a spot to play the game tomorrow by posting a comment on Shacknews. Got my confirmation email/phone call from Steve Gibson today. He said I'll get maybe 1-2 hours of play, depending on the how the press is doing, the gaming press will be there all day trying it out.

How Does Gearbox Decide To Release New Info?
I was wondering how gearbox decides to release new info, gameplay etc. Is there some reasoning, like for instance, I haven't seen any new guns in the gunopedia for a pretty long time now. Are they trying to save up the gameplay and info for one big announcement or are they just going to release the game with only dedicated fans interested in it?
Aliens: Colonial Marines Alive And Well

I don’t know how many of you have been following Gearbox’s other project, Aliens: Colonial Marines. To those that are: good news!
A lack of news on the title prompted speculation that the game was nixed. Not so says Gearbox. They’re just too busy working on Borderlands.
